09-27-09 Sunday Week 34

Decided to do "Angie" today since I rested yesterday. Planning on making up the AMRAP tomorrow...

Training Log
4:00PM
"Angie"
For time:
100 Pullups
100 Pushups
100 Situps
100 Squats

Time -- 27:25

NOT a good time in the gym this afternoon. Someone tell me how to deal with those days that you don't PR and you start to feel like if you don't kill yourself every week, you won't progress. This Angie was almost 4 minutes slower than my PR. My diet isn't perfect right now, but it's not really horrible or anything. And while I'm not doing 2-a-day workouts, I feel so frustrated that doing my best in the gym is not good enough to continue improving.
I am so hard on myself mentally when I have an off-day or even an off-week. I feel heavy and slow and unmotivated. Am really struggling to find some reason to keep pushing right now. It doesn't help that people are already talking about preparing for the 2010 Games... FOR REAL?!?! I am not even ready to think about them yet... it just seems too soon.

I always think of those workouts as putting money in the bank. Sometimes you make big deposits and sometimes they aren't so big. But they all are adding up to help you reach your goals!

Girl, you gotta live a little. If you improved everyday the improvements you do make won't mean as much. Remember how nice it was to see sunshine after all the rain? Take pleasure in what you have, that's all I'm saying.

Shana, I'm a fan. It's not too early to think about 2010. In fact, Coach Glassman already met with Dave Castro about the planning portion. Don't worry about the bump in the road. You are getting better, even if you don't PR all the time. By now, getting a PR for you should be something very special, because they are already all so good.

I'll be rooting for you once again next year when you get to the Games! Keep the faith!
